Hi! I know this is an older article (strange to think of something as old because it was published >1 year ago) but have you considered doing this process asynchronously as a take-home test? Have them do a code review and suggestions for improvement offline, and spend the interview process reviewing their feedback? This idea is great but I do still worry about asking candidates to come up with feedback on the spot being unintentionally discriminatory against candidates who are not as immediately self-confident — not to mention it’s somewhat unrealistic in actual job performance to code review on the spot and with an audience. I’ve been curious about whether an asynchronous code-review based interview process could work — I documented a model for it here . I’m curious whether you’ve experimented with it or are doing it now. Kayla Boyer since you were looking at this I’m curious if Shopify tried this asynchronously?
