I am not planning to sign up for any of the follow-on degrees at this point. The advanced programs look like they are designed to prepare students to be practitioners, but my career is more in a management or entrepreneurial area at this point. I feel like I learned enough in Deep Learning to either 1) lead a machine learning team at a larger company, or 2) figure out how to leverage machine learning in a startup, and that is ‘good enough’ for me for now. I am very interested in creating solutions for problems through technology and code. Deep learning is a very cool set of tools that can help solve problems, but an algorithm is not a solution by itself. I would love to see a follow-on course on how to integrate a machine learning algorithm in to other technology solutions, but I really don’t want my next career move to be only implementing machine learning algorithms.
