I think you’re a little late to the party “to see this coming”. The last 10–15 years have been riddled with people trying to pile the brakes on this juggernaut. It’s been coming a long while and it’s only in the last 5 or so years that these sorts of claims have started to be taken seriously. If there’s something to be learnt it is not that mankind makes the same mistakes repeatedly throughout history. If you’ve only just realised that recently, then you’ve missed the bigger question because everyone alive today should already know that. We need to know who has a vested interest in repeating those mistakes throughout this eternal struggle. We need to identify what fuels those interests. Then, and only then, can you prevent that desire from taking hold and prevent this article from being re-written in 2116.
