Trump’s Twitter Tactics Backfire Among Millennials

(This project was a group collaboration between Hofstra students Dan Hanson, Alina Robateau, Camille Sherlock, Carlee Ancona.)

Social media, specifically Twitter, has proved to be a very powerful tool in the 2016 United States Presidential Election, especially from now President-Elect Donald Trump.

Hofstra student, Daniel Hanson (junior), interviews a student in the student center

In order to gather information on just how impactful Mr. Trump was while online, we took to Hofstra University’s student center to hear the thoughts from students. Generally, most students believed that Mr. Trump has been vulgar on his Twitter account by taking shots at women, immigrants and Hillary Clinton, herself.

Students also believe that social media will continue to be a powerful resource in upcoming political cycles, and may even replicate the intensity that we saw in 2016.
