A vision of Apple’s future

Apple’s new MacBook is their vision of the future.

Only one USB port (of a brand new format), which dual-functions as a power supply? Sounds frustrating in today’s world.

Dropping the suffix, leaving it as simply ‘MacBook’, among the existing options? Sounds like a confusing product line.

Taking advantage of just about every millimeter of space on the device? Sounds like they’re maximizing.

Bringing the style and options of the iPhone over? Sounds like they’re positioning this device as the height of computing style and class.

And to top it off, it’s paradoxically thinner than the Air.

That’s why its moniker is simply ‘MacBook’. It’s the various models inevitably converging into one.

The ultimate MacBook.

The Air and the Pro remain, at least for now, as not everyone is ready for the future yet, and nor is this likely to be the final iteration on its design. But Apple have clearly signalled their future.
