SF’s (new) Summer of Love and Resistance: A photo essay from 2017 NoHateSF rally
On August 26, 2017, thousands gathered in the Castro and Civic Center areas of San Francisco in solidarity against hatred and bigotry and as a counter protest to alt-right/neo-nazi patriot prayer gatherings in the Bay Area. What many feared would be a day of confrontation and violence blossomed into a huge festival of San Francisco love, with some of the city’s fiercest drag queens on the front line. Relive this powerful day through my eyes in some of the most memorable moments of love, humanity, and resistence.
