I Flirt With The Idea of Giving Up Quite Often…

This simple mindset shift will change your entire outlook

Most of our battles in life take place on the battlefield within our minds. Life is like school, filled with many lessons to be learned during each stage of our growth. Those of us that learn our lessons are fortunate enough to move onto the next stage, while others are left to repeat the class.

Can you withstand the rigorous curriculum of life while striving towards your goals?

I’m tested everyday as an entrepreneur. There are days when life and business are great. And then there are days when it’s really stressful. If I can be totally honest, sometimes it feels like I’m walking in a dark tunnel with no end in sight — and that feeling of hopelessness causes me to flirt with the idea of quitting.

Champions stare adversity in the face and rise above their circumstances. I realize that every challenge is a character-building moment that increase our mental endurance and prepare us for life’s next lesson.

I’m a champion, baby.

Be Relentless.

Successful people refuse to quit because life dealt them a few lemons. They take those lemons, squeeze them into a glass of water, add sugar, and drink up! You can’t quit because life gets too difficult. Life gets hard for everyone at some point. Your test will eventually become your testimony.

Keep pushing.

Live. Make Mistakes. Learn. Grow.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably made quite a few mistakes in your lifetime. I’ve shared many of my imperfections and mistakes via my live broadcasts on Facebook and Periscope. We must view mistakes and failures as stepping-stones and opportunities for growth. Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, referred to failures as temporary defeats.

Our society is filled with famous failures. We put so much emphasis on the successes of others and idolize their glory without knowing the extent of their backstory.

Ultra successful people have mastered the understanding that there is no real embarrassment in failure. If you live long enough, you’ll make a mistake — or a series of mistakes— that will result in a temporary defeat. Use your temporary defeat as an opportunity to learn and begin again.

#ChampionMindset

Always work like you’re second-best.

As you continue to climb the mountain to your goals, understand there’s always something on your heels itching to get within arms reach to grab your ankles and snatch you down. That “monster on your heels” could take many forms.

In basketball, we had a saying: “Even if you’re number one, always work like you’re number two.” It means we should always strive for better. Complacency and procrastination are the enemies of success.

Never let anyone outwork you.

In business, being comfortable equals stagnation — and stagnation always leads to death. If you own a company, your team must continue to innovate while keeping a pulse on industry trends and customer demands.

Best believe someone is taking notes on your successes and failures, reviewing your customer pain points, and plotting on how to improve your existing model — or even worse, create an entirely new market space from your idea. Remember, ABC: Always Be Creating.

Life is a marathon, not a sprint. The ones who thrive possess the mental agility to navigate the volatile roads.

Are you ready to shift to the level?

I appreciate you! :) If this resonated, it would mean so much to me if you hit the heart button. ❤️ It helps make the story visible to others.
