Bognor Regis Herald commentary — the Real Boxing Story …. and other real news
The Herald is NOT carrying anything bar this mention re The Big Fight because a) it’s a sport whose intent is for one person to physically harm another b) the reputed 200 million pounds to be ‘earned’ by Mayweather is an absolute obscenity. Instead we carry the report on Mohammed Ali, concerning detection of early signs of speech slurring. Denied for years, is the truth what one always feared, that this alleged sport was the cause of his sad decline? The glamour now laid bare, no dancing like a butterfly stinging like a bee, literally just shuffling off the mortal coil?
If you want heroes and ‘manly’ behaviour, view the video today re the Yemen cholera outbreak and the picture of an 11 year old girl so grossly starved, and the doctor caring for her. I simply ask, how can this be tolerated? A war where nations are fighting by proxy, bombing civilians with impunity, and where hundreds of thousands of children are at risk NOW. Many have died, many more will, maybe that child is already such a statistic. That doctor represents humanity, he and others could do with 200 million pounds right now.
Today’s issue looks at the far-right, here and in the US. The Herald has already raised the issue of Britain First, exposing its resort to bogus patriotism, its obsession with condemning moslems and stirring up hatred against them. We got some flack when we revealed a local resident repeating the sentiments and logo of one of its stooge facebook pages, English & Proud. Both BF and E&P continue their odious habits, they are racist at base root, they seek to stir up support by exploiting fears.
We will need 190k extra care places in the next 20 years to deal with a soaring elderly population. So maybe Leavers rejoicing at the decline in migration recently announced, will consider the implications for care worker employment. Be careful what you wish for, is the saying that springs to mind.
