Wonderful story!

I did not have a heart transplant but the team that operated on my Tetralogy of Fallot(1975) in South Africa studied under Christiaan Barnard.

So I believe there are many “spin-offs” of surgeons working with the heart and learning how to “cut and sow” it back together again.

I also visited the “Heart of Cape Town Museum” not so long ago. It was an enlightening tour.
