Indeed, a remedy against a lie is to provide facts from credible sources. A remedy against a piece of bullshit is to call it “bullshit” and disregard it.

Good points, but I would extend it to “demagogue” or “propagandist”, maybe “trumpgogery”, which would be BOTH a bullshiter (a broad scope of falsehoods) and a liar (those falsehoods are targeted). Bullshit is somewhat random and often easy to detect but demagoguery is designed to resonate with beliefs and prejudices of the audience. Example of bullshit “Cancer is treated by eating cheese”. Example of demagoguery “Cancer is treated by eating healthy green salad”. One piece of bullshit doesn’t damage the truth, it’s sufficient to just discard the piece. But the ultimate target of a bullshiting system is removing the notion of the truth altogether. Being cool is more important, like us on FB.
