There are technical teams where an average age is like 45 or even 50s, but they are even more prone to be 100% boys clubs than younger teams. As older men have less opportunities, they compete for those positions, give preference in hiring to somebody like them or young men reminding of themselves younger. They are also likely to be married and have no incentive to socialize with women. They’ve already got their wives, daughters and friends, thanks.

The plan is a fantasy. Silicon Valley has a gender problem but doesn’t ask for a solution.
