Hello Medium!
Welcomeee to my blog! My name is Jane and I’m a junior studying civil engineering at Temple University! I originally started out at the Community College of Philadelphia per my high school counselor’s recommendation. I’ve always wanted to do civil engineering, but my high school teachers thought biochemistry would be a better fit, so that’s what I studied first. After my 2 years at CCP was up, I decided to apply for a transfer to Temple University for civil engineering instead of biochemistry.
Why do I want to study engineering? One day during middle school, our toilet had a issue. I forget what exactly was wrong with it but the tank wouldn’t fill up or something. My mom called the maintenance guy and he came up to our place and he did something in the tank and fixed it! That was the most amazing thing I ever saw! The maintainence guy was my inspiration.
A lot of people that are not in engineering think engineering is all just math and physics. That’s not it! To me, engineering is about creation and helping people solve issues. I want to impact people’s lives and become a productive member of society (lols).
I’m starting this blog because my fluid mechanics professor wants me to. He thinks it’ll make me become a better writer. The logic makes sense, so I’m hoping that the end of this semester won’t be the end of this blogging journey.
