Are you really paying attention?

I love watching TED Talks, I think they’re all very interesting, insightful or both. One of the best Ted Talks I have seen was in high school. I have showed almost everyone I know since then because it is so relatable and makes you extremely aware of yourself. Even after watching the video you can’t control yourself to do what the video explains. In this video I learned that the brain sees what it wants and once directed at one thing loses sight of what’s surrounding. In this talk, the author shows how misdirecting someone attention makes them miss what is happening around them. He shows many different examples showing that it is not staged creating a very real discussion. I think this talk can be related back to electronic usage and how were missing the work around us while on our handheld devices. It’s crazy to realize how synced everyone’s brains are with certain activities. My favorite part about this Ted Talk is how novel the audience is and how much of a connection it gives us to ourselves and others. I also love that this talk shows what the author is explaining at the same point in time, proving what he’s explaining. I think everyone should see this Ted Talk, it has a wide audience from children to the elderly and gives all viewers something to think about in their day to day activities.
