For those saying that he disrespected the country, I would say that if this country is someplace where you can’t have and express your own opinions, then this country needs to be disrespected. I thought the 1st Amendment addressed that issue. I am willing to bet that many who showed outward “respect” for the National Anthem have in their own lives done far more to disrespect the laws and standards of this country. Has he been lawless, violently abusive of women or children (or dogs, for that matter as Vick has come back into the picture)? If our country is so weak that it can’t withstand a football player who doesn’t kneel for the National Anthem (and whoever came up with that rule anyway? No one else in the crowd kneels.), then we are a very weak country indeed.
