I like new age-y stuff. I have a tarot deck! Crystals are pretty. People should spend money on whatever makes them happy. But what I *don’t* like are industries that encourage people to spend money on things for chronic pain and illness that are not effective at best and actively harmful at worst. The world is full of people waiting to take money from vulnerable, desperate people: if you sell $3000 crystals or for the purpose of healing (or homeopathic remedies) and rail against “big pharma” out for profits I got news for you — pot, meet kettle. I wish this article was more balanced. By all means talk about the cost of crystal collecting as a hobby but please bring some professional skepticism to bogus claims.
