There is no manual or step by step guide for finding the right path for you. I am 58 and spent most of my life searching for that holy grail. Now I am doing what I want, writing. If I get published some day, great, if not I am learning so much along the way. I quit my job in November, no, I am not independently wealthy, and did not do it on the spur of the moment. We (my husband and I) made a conscious decision years ago to have no debt — it took effort and making trade-offs, we have made more tradeoffs since I quit my job. I don’t feel I am suffering. I want freedom in my life more than anything — I have put pieces together from various sites and sources. You take what works for you, and discard the rest. You always have a choice, even if that choice is only how you will respond to your situation. In any situation you have the choice to accept it, walk away from it, or change it. No one else can make that choice for you.
