Thanks for this perspective! It gives us a great idea of some of the pushes and pulls of politics, and the hope brought by all the energy- you could feel it. My CD was much more orderly- the “revolutionary” group you mentioned challenged the rules in an effort to put a candidate in when they didn’t have enough votes, but when the chair saw that they did have around 6o out of 240, so could not win any spots but really did represent a sizeable group, he negotiated a spot for their candidates on the MTBI/Labor slate and we all voted them in. Some may have voted just to get it done- it was dragging out due to their challenges- but I was glad to see them take part. Hoping they will bring some good energy and not get lost in the factionalism you describe.
