This *could* sadly be accurate. Surely the GOP is aware of both sides of the coin: ie: they worry that Trump is not “one of them”, and is neither predictable nor a “team player.” Though Trump’s popularity among his large anti-establishment voter base is useful, the cons for them will soon outweigh the pros. Yet: any intelligent Republican would fear the backlash if Trump were impeached with their cooperation. While I certainly would never advocate it, I’m sure some in the GOP are hoping very hard that Donald has a “heart attack”, or is hurt in a way they can blame on “leftist radicals.” Mind you, this is coming from a Sanders/Stein supporter — one who argued non-stop against Hillary because I was aware of the populist sentiment that Trump used to get elected, and only Sanders could have countered. (And against Trump as well, given his mental instability, and lack of business or political competency.) The phrase “between a rock and a hard place” suddenly comes to mind… :/
