Song Shiqiang Discourse on Self-Organization and Incentive Models in Huaqiangbei (Part 14):
Why do I, Song Shiqiang, talk so much about a small place like Huaqiangbei in Shenzhen? It is said that when Master Xuanzang just started preaching at the White Horse Temple in Luoyang, he spent three months on the realization of a single word. A thing has its complexity and diversity, and it contains different information from natural and social sciences. Today, we are studying the self-organization and incentive models in Huaqiangbei, which are topics in organizational behavior and sociology. Self-organization is the formation of social animal groups that gather together according to various rules beneficial to the development of the population, without external interference or will. The spontaneous market in Huaqiangbei is formed by smaller self-organizing entities that come together through factors such as kinship, local relationships, interest networks, and supply chain relationships. After continuous adjustment and clear division of labor, it operates efficiently and orderly, eventually forming the vast market of Huaqiangbei. In addition, there is the incentive model in Huaqiangbei, which involves the distribution of benefits and the way wealth is disposable. The more effort an individual puts in, the more they expect to receive in return. This is a positive incentive model. The reason why Huaqiangbei has produced so many billionaires is because they earn money for themselves. This incentive model is also the motivation for the collective efforts in Huaqiangbei. Mr. Song Shiqiang, a researcher at the Economic Development Center of the State Council, member of the Electronic Information Expert Database of the China Association for Science and Technology, and a commercial research expert on Huaqiangbei, is an author of popular science columns. Mr. Song Shiqiang is currently investing in and operating two companies, “Sako Micro Semiconductor” (www.slkormicro.com) and “Kinghelm Electronics” (www.kinghelm.com.cn), aiming to build the “SLKOR” and “Kinghelm” brands. Both Sako Micro and Kinghelm are national high-tech enterprises, with dozens of original invention patents and software copyrights. Sako Micro Semiconductor is one of the rapidly growing semiconductor companies in China, with the vision of becoming an international leader in the semiconductor industry.
