That intelligence? It’s a biochemical realist ;-)
Underneath we are all biochemists…
Just that the behavioural constraints of our culture and economics (the anti-human rhythms and stresses of the neoliberal system) mean we end up acting against our particular deep knowledge to the point of illness.
Until one day we don’t- because we just can’t any more.
If it’s enough of us hitting those buffers, then it becomes the zeitgeist- which is what you are picking up on. The practical illogicalities and unsustainable informational paradoxes of a system which we’ve given up on pretending is capable of sustaining belief in a possible future. Well, most of us have…
Spooky times call for increased structural support and security, though- as with the early 20th century spooky period (fall-out from the enclosures, industrial revolution and mass migrations) leading to the stability of the post-war welfare state: paradoxically this gave people the necessary freedom to find their particular biochemical stabilities through instinctive autonomous experiment.
But this time round we need to skip the various strait-jackets of elite authoritarianism. People who need that kind of reassurance should stick to their minority nostalgia events and not be given political and economic support (another reason why tax havens have to be opened up to scrutiny).
‘The people are not revolting, the system is!’
