WHEN I CRY
I do the “The Thankful Walk”.
Ever have one of those days that starts off bad and keeps getting worse?
We all do!
Sometimes I wake up crying and I don’t know why. On those days, I have a hard time doing a thankful walk. Let’s be honest, sometimes pity parties are all we can to do.
I think not.
True, some days are hard to put a smile on your face and be thankful for anything. Those days I thank GOD he never leaves me in a puddle of tears. Really, I do cry on GOD’S shoulder. When crying is all I can do, I thank GOD I can cry.
After thanking GOD for staying with me while I cry, I thank GOD for still loving me. Then I thank GOD for helping me to get past the crying, to the smiling.
Funny thing about this kind of tearful, thankfulness, is I start to feel a little better.
Now it is Time for “The Thankful Walk”.
This is such a silly thing to do. After you do it for a few minutes, you can’t help but smile.
All you have to do is start walking around the room you are in and thank GOD out loud for everything you see, touch, smell, or hear.
Right now, I thank GOD for the clock on the wall ticking. I thank GOD for this computer I am typing on, the table it is sitting on, the wall it is plugged into, the coffee cup next to my computer, the smell of the wood burning in the fire place, I think you get the picture.
Once I start thanking GOD for everything, I don’t want to stop. I start smiling and feel a lot better. Good news is, my whole day gets better, not worse.
You try it and let me know if you start feeling better.
Leave a comment about what you are thankful for. What is the silliest thing you can be thankful for right now?
Philippians 4:6 KJV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
One of the best ways I have found to stop worrying and crying about something, is to start thanking GOD for taking care of the problem. Then I will start thanking GOD for the times HE has worked out similar problems. This really helps get my eyes off of myself and back on GOD.
My prayer is that you will have a joyful smile on your face after reading this post.
