Lowering Sri Lanka’s national flag to the sound of bagpipes at Galle Face Hotel in Colombo

“Its utterly pathetic that many people in Sri Lanka will rail against the national anthem being sung in Tamil (or partly in Tamil), but will happily enjoy tea and crumpets while our flag is lowered to Scottish bagpipes.”

The so called elite class go to such places as Galle face hotel for evening tea. The such elite class only care about what they think that suites their so called elite lifestyle. The so called lifestyle does not necessarily value such things as tradition. To so called tradition for them is whatever that make them look like the elite.
