About sharing.

So, as I keep talking about freelancing and photography I actually do not have any public facebook profile or a website. For a very long time I considered it unnecessary — I have my clients and do not have any need whatsoever to share my work and thought with anybody else.

Well, it is only a half-truth, or actually not true at all — as I started writing on Medium I also set up a facebook page I just didn’t share it with anyone — I didn’t share it with anyone because I get anxious about things I do. It is stupid and I know where this anxiety is coming from. Nonetheless, this is not to psychoanalyse me, but to write about sharing.

So the page has been shared. I am no longer anonymous. The links and connections have been made. Friends like it, non-friends like it and people will keep liking it (however it does not mean they will REALLY like it). In reality it all doesn’t matter because what me and many others have to realise is that sharing is not a moment when you click a button a social media page but a moment of taking pride in what you have made. This time, it seems that the pride was put in my hands when I wasn’t necessarily ready -however it still is mine to take and say — „I love what I am doing and I am proud of my work”. So, this is what I am doing right now.

I recommend you do the same. It may as well make you feel better. But if showing your things to other people makes you feel sick to your stomach consider the fact that XX (imput your likes tally) more people can consider you for their new photography, design, copywriting, whatnot venture. And the fact they actually do it means a lot.
