Paying customers, not paying Facebook, Google, or Twitter.
Jason Fried

I really emphasize with the reasoning and applaud your actions. But as a 7–8 year long customer of yours, I think there is one big flaw. Why do I end up with an ad on my homescreen now? I don’t mind, but allow me to dismiss the thing.

It’s almost like if the company from which we rent our office would make a permanent ad in our office asking to bring in more companies as renters. Fine if they do it with a flyer, so I can throw it out. Not fine if they paint it on the wall.

I like Basecamp a lot, I refer people a lot. I don’t need to make money with it.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
