Computer ports

The interface that connect the computer with other parts or other computer called as a port. They are located in front or back side of computer. All of the ports are connected with mother board.

PS/2 port : Which helps to connect keyboard and mouse with computer. There are two color PS/2 port such as purple for keyboard and green for mouse. But nowadays keyboard and mouse connect through USB with computer.

Parallel ports : The printer is connected with computer by parallel ports. It has twenty-five holes. Nowadays USB connects the printer with computer.

HDMI(High-Definition multimedia interface) : Especially, laptop has this type of feature. Because it connects the monitor, digital TV, digital speaker and multi media projector.

RJ 45 port : The computer that is in networking use to connect the computer and network router with modem and network switch.

Audio port / Jack : This port is used for attach audio media like microphone, speaker and head phone with computer. Blue color port for line in, Green color port for line out and purple color port for microphone.

USB(Universal Serial Bus) port : Nowadays, most of the type input and output are connected with computer undergo the USB port.

Video port-VGA(Video Graphics Adopter) : This is called as a graphic port too and used to connect monitor, television and multi media projector to the computer system. this port consists 15 holes.

Serial port : Modem is connect the computer with internet, connected with computer by serial port. These days, USB is used instead of serial port.
