To Trade or Trade For is the Question

Its heading towards the midway point of the Fantasy Football season and its time for people to start shaping their teams. With my fantasy teams I honestly don’t know who my team will be until about week 8. So I have below a couple of players that’s caught my eye to either trade or trade for.

Rob Gronkowski: Gronk is coming off a week where he had 5 receptions for 109 yards. Prior to week 5 he only had 1 catch while being Brady-less. The team is being cautious with him and his hamstring. Coming off of this really good week I would look to trade him. My reasoning behind this is we still don’t clearly know what was going on with his hamstring. All we know is what was told to us. If you are at a point where you are hurting for a RB1 or WR1 you should be able to do a player for player trade to get that. Requesting to WR2’s wouldn’t be a bad trade off either.

Chris Hogan: Chris Hogan has had a really good season up to this point with the exception of the 2 weeks where Jacoby Brissett was starting QB. In those two weeks the Patriots were clearly looking to run first and limit Brissett from throwing. Hogan has shown to be a consistent player and with his blocking ability he will stay on the field for most of the offensive sets. He is clearly Tom Brady’s favorite deep ball target. If you have a need put him up to Trade. When the whether gets colder outside the deep balls will slow down. Hogan May be a little fragile as well, he got up a little slow Sunday after a couple of deep catches and bouncing off the ground. Bouncing off the ground in the cold is a totally different story as well, if you don’t know try it out.

Eddie Lacy: We’ve been down this road with Eddie Lacy the last couple of years. He always finds a way to get injured or be out of shape in the beginning to mid season. My take on Lacy is hold on to or Trade for him. When it gets cold at Lambeau Field the Packers want to soften teams up by running the ball. Don’t let the ankle injury scare you away just be prepared to possibly go a week without him but when he is on the field he will produce for you. The boy just got bad ankles.

Dez Bryant: Dez Bryant really isn’t the same player without Tony Romo and the Cowboys look to do just fine without him and Romo. Ive seen fantasy footballers abandon ship with Dez Bryant and release him. If you are lucky to have him on your waiver wire pick him up. He will likely sit this week and be back after the Cowboys bye week in week 8. This will be perfect because he will be able to get conditioned enough in a 2–3 games and be able to help you with a championship run. Trade for him if you can some people will likely take minimum for him at this point because they’re desperate. Something to think about with Dez is the chance of the Cowboys trading him. This is pure speculation but if he lands on a team that will give him 7–10 receptions a game this will be perfect. Remember pure speculation.

Jamaal Charles: Jamaal Charles was sitting on my waiver wire last week and I was like WHAT!!!! So of course I signed him and released my kicker. Im totally fine going kicker-less in my league. Jamaal only played sparingly in week three and the Chiefs had a bye week in week 4. This more and likely was the plan all along for the Chiefs for Jamaal Charles who is coming off ACL surgery. Trade for him if you have the opportunity because he is fresh and if he can get a game in and gain some confidence in his knee he will be the Jamaal Charles of normal. That’s all the Chiefs offense is missing. They have a treat this week playing the Oakland Raiders who struggle with the RB/TE coming out of the backfield. In another one of my leagues I traded Eli Manning and Larry Fitzgerald for Jamaal Charles.

Marcus Mariota: Mariota is a funny one for me because I defended him last week and I will still defend him. The Titans are obviously looking to run the ball instead of letting him develop as a passer in a passing league. Marcus is a Trade or Trade for if you are hurting for a QB. He is going to put up a stat line like he had last week 163 passing 3 touchdowns and 60 yards rushing with one touchdown. He will do this consistently in this offense that they have going in Tennessee. This offense reminds me of the D.V.D (Dunn, Vick, Duckett) days in Atlanta. Safe passes and lots of running. Marcus Mariota serves as my backup QB and that’s where he will stay.

Beware of the Trade deadline and lookout for these players.
