Transforming India from its root level

It’s commonly advised that in order to solve a problem, we have to work on its root cause. India being a huge and diverse country is facing numerous problems like poverty, unemployment, malnutrition, illiteracy, etc. To eradicate these problems, the focus area is the India’s countryside.

India’s hinterland population contributes a majority of the country’s population and thus, plays a crucial role in the country’s GDP. Even, the natural reserves and beauty is found only in the countryside which makes it more crucial for the nation’s growth.

With the same idea in mind, Confederation of Empowerment Initiatives (CEI), a government registered NGO, is working relentlessly for the tribal and rural communities of various states of India. With acute courage and strong transformational objectives, the organization has achieved numerous milestones in its 4 years of journey. With a national coverage of 2.5 crores of population and initiatives of several Resiliency and Development Economy solutions, the tribal communities which were earlier classified under Primitive Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) are now living an independent and confident life. The last mile delivery programs provided these aboriginal people an identity of their own by getting ration cards, aadhar cards, voter ID cards, Ayushmaan Bharat cards and tribal certificates to avail the benefits of government schemes and be a part of development.

By kickstarting multifarious empowerment initiatives such as providing food aid, medical aid, livelihood and entrepreneurship programs, CEI truly justifies its name. Upskilling of local communities is done on a regular basis to keep them focused on their path of growth and righteousness. Organic farming, horticulture, bee-keeping, cultivation of ayurvedic and medicinal plants, handicrafts & eco-friendly products making are some of the self-employment opportunities utilized by those inhabitants. These initiatives have been successful because of the effective field officers of CEI. Amongst the locals, certain highly dedicated individuals were trained and positioned by CEI to handle the on-ground work.

Recently the NGO has provided the dwellers with a tractor and a plough to sow the seeds of equipment leasing business. Advanced technologies can easily be lended and the community can have an additional income along with their everyday earnings.

A selfless, fearless and egoless mindset of the team of CEI is exceptional. The transformation of individuals from living in abject destitution to leading a respected life is no less than a bliss for them. Such NGOs should be supported so that a change in the overall nation’s outlook can be brought.
