Monday Update with Sumikko Gurashi, Earth Atlantis, Tasukete Tako-San, Ninja Smasher and more news!

● The fourth Sumikko Gurashi game for 3DS Sumikko Gurashi: Here, Where I am? (we’re still waiting for the Japanese title) which releases on 20 July opened up its teaser website today. All three previous Sumikko Gurashi games have amassed over half million sales!

Earth Atlantis is a stylistically excellent looking retro-style side-scrolling shooter from Pixel Perfex with a big open world and monster hunting-esque gameplay mechanics and will be at A 5th Of BitSummit later this month and on the Nintendo Switch eShop later on in 2017.

● The awesome looking Game Boy-inspired 2D Platformer RPG Tasukete Tako-San: Save me Mr Tako! will be at both Tokyo Indie Fest 2017 and A 5th Of BitSummit later on this month and is planned for release on the Japanese Wii U eShop hopefully at some point in 2017!

Ninja Smasher! has returned to the Japanese 3DS eShop thanks to Flyhigh Works where it is now available once-again priced at ¥400. Previously it was published by PUMO who underwent bankruptcy, with the game subsequently disappearing from the eShop on 6 April.

● The three player co-op beat-em-up Dusty Raging Fist which was originally supposed to come to Wii U is now planned for Switch instead. PD Design Studio will be showing off the game at A 5th Of BitSummit. Check out an (old) trailer here.

Uniqlo today announced the winners of the UT Grand Prix 2017 T-shirt design competition (the theme was Nintendo). The winners are all listed here with the top 25 being sold in-store and online from 19 May. The top three were Super Mario, Splatoon and The Legend of Zelda designs!

● ICYMI Cosen announced three Wii U games that they are bringing to Japan this Summer and will show at Tokyo Indie Fest 2017 with the platform adventure game Spheroids, the twin-stick shooter Tachyon Project and the two-player rogue-like dungeon crawler Bit Dungeon+.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe opened with 452 pts on COMG! from three days of sales with Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission X at 199 pts. Pre-orders see Splatoon 2 with 269 pts and Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete with 182 pts. Pre-orders for ARMS officially opened today too!

Monster Hunter Stories will see a free major update this Summer including new Otomon (rideable monsters), dress like the Ride On anime and more importantly change appearance — including gender — mid-game. I’m guessing this will be implemented in the localised version.

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional players will receive 12 free monsters via wi-fi connection in-game today (details here)! And the Future Card Buddyfight: Mezase! Buddy Champion! website has a password for an ‘ultra-rare’ Dragon Force card today also.

● And in mobile news: Yokai Watch Puni Puni will see a collaboration with Hello Kitty and Sanrio until 16 May, Toad Rally has seen 15,351,688 plays in Super Mario Run and all players will receive a Banana Statue when the current event ends and a Fire Emblem Heroes update next Monday!
