I love this! The part about being unfamiliar with makeup and wearing dresses wholly resonates with me. I wish I could be as articulate as you, but I definitely have experienced (and still do) what you have. I like to think of it as defining my own version of femininity and my definition of woman. I don’t have to accept a media version of the definition. Plus, I like to think that being more human (aka be truthful with yourself and others) is more important than being feminine or masculine.
