Aaron Rodgers Is Wildly Overrated

I feel like people are finally starting to come around on Aaron Rodgers having an issue. The past couple years he hasn’t been this otherwordly QB that everyone says he is. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still pretty nasty and he’s definitely one of the best in the game right now but people act like he’s unreal. My whole thing is that people have been making a lot of excuses for the guy and saying he’s still up there as the BEST in the NFL or at least on par with Tom Brady. That’s flat out stupid.

Rodgers is a very gifted athlete and he makes a lot of WTF plays in a positive way, but in the past two to three years I’ve seen a good number of WTF why would you ever ever do that plays as well. He has absolute clunkers like the other night at home against Dallas. The ability to absolutely shut him down exists for defenses a lot more than a guy like Tom Brady who even in his worst performances puts up like 20 points.

I just think that this whole Aaron Rodgers is so great, the best in the NFL, one of the best ever thing has gotten stupid. I think he’s got a lot more work to do. And spare me the argument that he has no weapons. Jordy Nelson is a stud and Randall Cobb is no slouch. Throw in Eddie Lacy as well. It’s not the most loaded team, and I actually think his coaching staff is pretty shitty (Mike McCarthy is the biggest reason Rodgers and the Packers underachieve) but he should still be better than he has been. Maybe it’s Olivia Munn, his problems with his brother Jordan being publicized, the football’s not being over-inflated anymore, I frankly don’t know. All I know is that Rodgers is glorified too much.

The guy isn’t a top QB right now and you could actually make the argument that he’s playing the worst at his position in the NFC North (It would be a tad nuts but not as far off as you think). I mean if I’m actually ranking my top 5 QBs in the league based on this year I’m probably putting it like this.

  1. Brady
  2. Roethlisberger
  3. Ryan
  4. Carr
  5. Bradford

If you’re gonna ask me who I’d want based on a bigger sample size I probably go with

  1. Brady
  2. Roethlisberger
  3. Wilson
  4. Rodgers
  5. Carr

And finally if your going to ask me who are the best QBs I’ve ever actually seen play it’s

  1. Brady
  2. Peyton
  3. Roethlisberger
  4. Favre
  5. Wilson (with Rodgers being the sixth)

So yea Aaron Rodgers is still a VERY good QB but don’t put him in the same breath as Brady. It’s just not correct. He’ll probably win another Super Bowl someday and continue to move up the ranks and he’ll DEFINITELY slice up the Bears on Thursday night but let’s just wait until he actually does. He isn’t the best so stop being blinded by his Hail Mary’s and his off balance TDs. He’s got work to do.
