Trump’s Wall and Eminent Domain

An enlightening article that makes the obvious but crucial observation that Trump and the federal government will need eminent domain to get much of the US-Mexico border property needed to build his wall. Though the author allows that these takings may satisfy the public use clause of the 5th Amendment, he declares that a monumental amount of time and money will be required to process all these takings through the courts. He also suggests that while most Americans oppose the wall, less opposition exists than that which met the Kelo v. City of New London (2005) Supreme Court decision.
