— BLANK PAGE POEM —

Thoughts and phrases

Blue lines on notebook pages

Wide ruled is your domain

Through all the ages

So many phases

Yet you remain the same

Your name quite literal

Though space so minimal

And words so hard to find

For you blankness is natural

And for me so factual

As I stumble from line to line

The time that I spend

On words that I bend

To fill your even spaces

Has been headaches and grins

And as each day begins

I count on your emotionless sameness.
