I can’t believe that people use this phrase still. It’s yuck. Particularly when you’re talking about text in the UI. It’s bad enough to use this “pop” term when having a conversation with designers.

“Give this text more emphasis in context.”

“Make this part of the copy heavier in context to the rest.”

What other respectful and constructive phrases can you think of.
