Adrienne Maree Brown describes how a fractal is “a never-ending pattern”. She incorporates this into real world scenarios because we, as humans, have small scale patterns which can later on lead to large scale changes. Everyone has different patterns, and that is okay because everyone will affect the world differently. The important thing is to have these patterns no matter how small. Sometimes, these patterns affect the world negatively. For example in instances such as “overwork, underpay, and unrealistic expectations”. These are things that start small and eventually make their way to a bigger platform and affect more people. This is why people have to make efforts to help because it can lead to issues being resolved. Adrienne Maree Brown states that the most important element to understand is that “what we practice at the small scale sets the patterns for the whole system”. Basically, start with your life and begin making changes with it, and slowly it will make progress and end up making changes in other people’s lives. People have to interact with others and allow themselves to connect with them. You have to understand what is going on with other people’s lives and the struggles they are going through. After understanding your own struggles and adapting to them, you will be able to better understand other people. Instead of focusing on the failure in your life, focus on how to grow and make the situation better. This is the start to changing not only your person, but also the entire world. As small as something may seem, it can always have an impact in the long run. Learn to tolerate and overcome the suffering. As soon as the community starts working together with their small scale patterns, an even bigger platform will be changed and impacted.
