Just A Step Back. 3 Steps To Controlling A Bad Day!
Ok, listen we all have those days. Yea you know exactly which ones I am talking about. The kind of day where you wake up and stump your toe getting out of bed and the rest of your entire damn day goes the same way. We all get those, I don’t care if you are the most successful business person in the world or a college freshman trying to understand life it happens to everyone. So here are a few tips that I have learned, that I hope can help you through a the sky is always grey kind of crappy day. Here we go!
1. Recognize It, Own It.
I feel like it is ok to wake up and get that feeling within the first 15 minutes of your day that, “Shit is not going well”. In the past I would catch myself not having a good morning, but acting like there was nothing different going on in that moment in time, and that I let the day and the feeling I am having consume me. So recognize that something feels off, I feel and have experienced the worst thing you can do is try to ignore the feeling and energies you are putting off.
2. Take A Step Back. Find A Min.
For me this is the most important step in all of this. I know it might sound a little silly, but take a step back and find a minute to understand what is going on with you. For me this has so much to do with self awareness, because you know it is there that energy that is with you and nothing can seem to go right. Now you might be at work or on your daily commute to your day, and I totally understand that. But, there is 100% a way that you can take a moment to gather yourself and breath. Again I know this sounds stupid or a “DU” we know that moment, you would be amazed at how many people do not have the strength to confront even themselves. So breath, I promise you taking a second to understand what is going on with you or what you are thinking of that has you so frazzled will be a MAJOR MAJOR HELP. Because make no mistake about it is all you, bad days are all mental, emotional, and yes physical at times I am sure. Self reflection is such a huge key in helping you change your day, so find a moment to yourself and get yourself together.
3. Accept It Or Punt!
I will keep this short and sweet, because it should be pretty simple from here. Understand that the world is going to keep spinning and tomorrow is another day, and just focus on taking little steps that either you know improve your mood. And I don’t say this often, but sometimes it is ok just to punt the day. Of course this is not the answer, on the other hand I find it ok to to say “I can not adult today”. Please don’t get fired, but be real with yourself. Truly I am convinced that we are all champions and most people just do not believe in themselves. In conclusion, rise up be a champion and understand that you can beat anything you set your mind to. And if it is just not going to work for the day. PUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will cause more harm than good trying to push through a bad day if you do not have the right mind set.
