The unanswered question here: why on earth did he come to school both in possession of and obviously having taken illegal drugs?! Could he have thought he’d somehow get away with it, that it was OK for him to do that?

Certainly my old school would have expelled anyone caught like that, and without letting them back in either. Result? Very, very few students were ever stupid enough to have drugs on school grounds! Alcohol, cigarettes, yes — but not drugs. (It probably helped that one student took ‘magic mushrooms’ a year or two before I started there, thought he could fly out of a third floor window, and now has a permanent reminder on wheels just how difficult flying really is.)

Did the rest of the class learn from his mistake, or did you catch others with or on drugs after that?
