Here are some application companion that will help you in case of emergency.

  • BlueLight — download and tap to connect someone to help you. You can install the “Request Help” button at lock screen. When you tap the”request help” button, bluelight will send the location to responders with the help of GPS, it will able to pinpoint your location.

In the same way with meeting your friends and or family. There is a feature “on my way”, this will let your friends and family that you are on your way and if you arrived home safely and Bluelight will send a map about your current location. In able to function it well, this apps need an internet connection for your location using GPS. Still functional offline and it will call or notify respective responders but no exact location.

  • Silent Beacon: Emergency Alert System — This is a free app, can download in IOS and Android. It uses also a GPS tracking and send your location to your custom set of friends or contacts, this includes the emergency services. Notification can be sent thru sms, email or push notification. Silent Beacon sell a separate device it connects to Bluetooth of your smartphone and can send signal even if your phone is in your pocket. A pocket size family location sharing app and device to have in your family.
  • BSafe: Personal Safety App — another emergency app that can be download in IOS and Android. This app notify your 4 selected contacts and this is called “Guardians” in an event of emergency situation. This version will notify your guardians by clicking the SOS button, this will send a notification thru sms and give location information.
  • Companion: Mobile Personal Safety — This is free safety alert app that can be downloaded in IOS or Android. This give also a real time location tracking. Like any other apps, you just need to pick your own contacts companion or guardian in case of emergency. This will send you a notification thru sms with a link to webpage that will send a real time of your current location. This app is sensor capable, if there’s a changes of your time arrival, trip path, or sudden changes of speed while driving. This app will ask you if you are OK. There is certain time to answer the notification of your app this within 15 seconds or fail to reply will divert notification to your assigned emergency contact persons.
  • Lifeline Response: Panic Button and Safety App — This app will be activated by holding the screen of your phone, in a series of countdown it will culminates call from Lifeline Response Verification Center. Once verified via verbal confirmation, silent alarm code or no reply it will contact 911 and Lifeline contacts thru text or email.
  • Kitestring: SMS based safety alert system — This is different from other apps discussed. Instead of activating this service emergency app, Kitestring send you text messages at intervals, you just need to reply that you’re okay thru sms or web. Non smartphones can enjoy this application you just need to sign up in their website. After signing and putting some information in the site, you can now start the trip. Kitestring is going to check you from time to time and need to response within the certain time or else it will notify your contacts. Also, it will inform your assigned contact persons that your trip is over. This application is good since you can use it even if you are not smartphone user and instead of notifying them, this app keep on tracking you.
