Crypto Media is Paid Propaganda
The struggle to find the best blockchain news is tough — but there is hope
On 7 June 2019, a major step was taken towards the mainstream integration of blockchain and crypto, but went unreported by the media. The Ljubljana-based fintech startup, Hiveterminal became the first blockchain platform to be listed in the Microsoft 365 store.
This is in fact a true story, but has been drowned out by a deluge of paid news, riddled with embellishment and fakery. Nobody knows about it, which means it’s becoming impossible to separate the wheat from the chaff. The termites have even gone as far as mainstream sources, with developments promising to take an even more sinister twist in the years ahead.
That is why trusting our news sources is imperative, but the crypto media have failed to provide any moral compass. Many of us were fooled during the summer of 2017. Not only did they charge high fees for the drivel they published, wasting ICO funds in the process, they arguably led many of their readers into blockchain hell. Why do we trust them?
Even though their credibility is shot, they have done little to improve the situation. All but the very biggest blockchain companies still often pay for exposure, and there is no guarantee that it will be reported accurately. Even if genuine news does get out there, a frowned-upon keyword can cause Google to smother content by preventing it from ranking highly in its search results.
Other Silicon Valley social networking companies have followed suit. YouTube was behind the recently declared Adpocalypse, in which over 1000 channels were deleted, with videos either being demonetized or completely removed. It’s not just select businesses that are being crushed by the mainstream media. Freedom of ideas, thought and expression are at stake too.
Fighting back is the only option and, for the crypto world at least, that fightback starts with independent researchers working for the public good. One such example is the CFN Network, whose mission is is to help its community learn about, get educated on and talk about all things crypto.
Today they invited representatives from the following blockchain projects to take part and present their technical and business development to the general public: $HYDRO $LTO $SKY $HPB $CHR $QNT $HVN $ARRR $HOLO $UBT. All of these tokens have conducted themselves the right way, preferring solid fundamentals over baseless hype.
Their communities have the passion and drive to go to a trusted source and do things the right way. If you hold any of the above tokens, please let me know more about their tokenomics and use-case in the comments section below. They must be good! In the meantime, please subscribe to the CFN Network newsletter to say thanks for doing things the right way!
