That is to say, I love my job, and not only do I want to continue to love my job, I need to continue to love my job, if I want to be any good at it. I need to manage myself—my happiness, my job satisfaction—the same way I would manage it for any of my reports, and take the time to identify problems, and put the tools in place to solve them.

But mostly, it captured all of the projects in one place, gave both myself and the requester a place to follow-up on any one project as well as the general workload on the illustration team. But ultimately, and most importantly returned my (mostly intact) sanity.
