Dear readers, as far as I can see, there is a lot of confusion after Trump’s statements. In Europe, Trump’s words are not taken very seriously. Many major events are taking place; in Europe, in the US, there are really structural disruptions, structural transformations. Structural crises have emerged in the field of defense, in the field of European security. I don’t think these are being followed enough. People are mostly interested in the tabloid aspects. I see this kind of joke news being made about Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is a former President of the United States and a candidate to be the next President of the United States, and his speeches are not the result of personal feelings or madness. His views are the views of the Republican Party, a right-wing party in the United States, supported by half of the country. And Trump’s most recent statements on NATO have been defended by Republicans. They didn’t say, this is crazy stuff, he can’t represent us, and he can’t. The Republican Party is overwhelmingly leading Trump to the presidency. It was the Republican Party that blocked aid to Ukraine.

The US position on European security and NATO has become unclear, blurred, ambiguous…
