Thank you for writing this. Too many things to comment on here, but we live in a world where being black is a relative disadvantage that can’t be mentioned without downside, all at the cost of 200% more work, mostly taken up with metal conformity. But, in the end, with enough hard work, and strong wits to resentment, we can be allowed to have the same opportunities as everyone else if we are up for the job, but you better leave your feelings at the door, because emotional discomfort is apart of the game.
It’s funny that Wired even allowed it, sure free speech is golden, when you’re ticket blends with majority. Hope I live to see the day where all races forget pigmentation, and focus on unified survival. We often forget we all come from the same rock floating in the blackness of space. History is still mental behavior driven by power spikes of mental superiority still caked in our physical reactions. It takes to long for humans to forget, mostly because we often make the same mistakes, and have a hard time letting go of the past.
One day, a blur of our past will have shaped our future. I just hope that future holds keys for anyone who sticks out a helping hand to teach, educate and offer their experience of the importance of what it is to be human and how we can all strive to be better.
*I’m actually mixed with White and Black, which means I share both perspectives and or cannot be identify.
