Advertising just does what people respond to. These ads must obviously work or they wouldn’t bother spending billions on making them.

Here’s an example from a doctors surgery this week:

The headlines and articles in women’s magazines are ridiculous but guess what? Women buy them for the ridiculous gossipy articles.

Hint: men buy magazines for other basic reasons it appears too.
