This is a wonderful write up, and probably some of the more well though out design exercises I’ve seen posted on the web. I’d love to know more about how you use these in an interview. Some of the exercises have more information and constraints and others. How does this change your expectations for the amount of questions vs actual whiteboard drawing the candidate does?
Some of these are also very specific to the strategic decisions a specific company makes, ie Go Pro, Google, Spotify. If you giving a candidate these exercises and neither of you are very knowledgable on the topic how to you answer the candidates questions?
