Not quite. Gift-wrapping isn’t the solution if the shipping box comes branded. “Is this a gift?” doesn’t state the outcome. What does it mean if it is? Typically it may mean a gift wrapping option or leaving the price off the receipt. Or simpler price-less returns. But it rarely means “no branding on the shipping box”.

Just about everyone who’s applied at Basecamp has had a job while they applied. They didn’t drop anything or take any time off. They found a few extra hours in that week to put their best ideas forward.
We didn’t write this book to change big companies, or any company really. Changing other companies isn’t something I’m particularly interested in, or capable of. There’s not, I’m afraid. Kindle is available across all major platforms and devices, and of course good old paper is the most platform agnostic option there is! ;)
Thanks Karl! We hope you enjoy it. We obviously disagree with Doerr on that point, and we discuss our “no goals” and no OKR/KPI outlook in the book. Of course this is just our opinion, as Doerr’s is his. There are no truths here — do what works best for you — but be sure you know why you’re doing what you’re doing.
