Why Learning Angular 2 Was Excruciating
Liz Bennett

I recently tried looking up products and small development teams whose work I like to see how many of them actually jumped on board any of the new javascript bandwagons.

One or two used React. Most used nothing — maybe ES6 or Backbone, but Backbone is stable and pretty lean.

I can’t prove it, but I suspect that a good-sized segment of experienced developers are deliberately eschewing the shiny new stuff. It doesn’t make popular blog posts but it does make sense: if you’re trying to build an app that will last five years, why would you build in on a foundation changes every two weeks?
