I’m Montez, a versatile recording artist hailing from Memphis, TN. My musical journey began in 2014, inspired by a Young Thug song that resonated with me. While I primarily delve into the Rap and R&B scene, I aspire to explore other genres. I’m an avid gamer and basketball player in my free time, excelling in both pursuits.
My passion for singing stems from my upbringing in South Memphis, where my dad’s daily singing sessions left a lasting impact. When it comes to my rap, I draw inspiration from my life experiences and how I perceive the world. Growing up, I wouldn’t describe my life as difficult, but financial constraints limited my access to luxuries. After residing with my dad for a while, I moved in with my mom, who tirelessly worked two jobs, fluctuating between one and two until her passing in 2022.
Throughout her life, she supported every song I recorded, providing honest feedback and guidance. Her untimely demise initially made me question my musical path, but I’ve recently rediscovered the passion to continue — perhaps fueled by her memory or fate, but I recognize that none of this would be possible without faith. My musical goal extends beyond creating catchy hooks or showcasing a great singing tone. It’s about being relatable and using my art to entertain and support people through life. I often find myself writing from different perspectives, connecting with others on a personal level.
