  1. I think you’re conflating your ideas (which are probably pretty surface, provided by media) of what feminism is and what feminist criticism is. I teach literature. Feminist critique is one way of doing it.
  2. Based on your belief that education should be entirely on getting a job, I suggest sending your kids to a technical training program, not a liberal arts four year university where the goal is to create a broadly educated populace. Studying any form of literature, regardless of critical approach, will likely not assist a career as a CPA, but it doesn’t mean it’s not valuable.
  3. Anticipating that you’ll conflate liberal arts with the liberal political leaning, I will simply say that the words mean different things in different contexts.
