Among my biggest gripes is the “swipe left for camera” in lock mode (the former swipe camera icon up for camera worked just fine).

I can’t tell you how many times by habit I’ve swiped left to unlock my phone, realizing I’ve activated camera, then naturally swiped right to get back only to unintentionally change my camera settings.

The system is flawed. It only took a few years (of already planned Apple roadmap) since Steve’s passing, but his absence is becoming more and more evident as the new roadmap has begun unfolding.

Good design is when there’s nothing left to take away and planning UI accordingly. Apple seems to have fallen into the opposite problem. Adding too much and not planning accordingly.
