I know we all hear the term, there’s no I in the team. Let me just say, that I always did things by myself.

The problem with that was, that I was always getting burnt out. When running a business you should have people doing certain things for you. Yes, you’re going to have to pay for these services. In the end, you will only benefit from doing such a thing.

Now imagine you have to make beats for your website, beats for tv and film, then you need to write emails, blogs, and do videos for your fans. Hey, you made that promise. If you haven’t caught on, I’m talking about myself. That’s how busy I really can get. What did I do?

I hired certain people to take care of those things for me.

Now, I have more free time to do what I want. I know it sounds like a no brainer. However, I see artists wanting to be rappers, producers, managers, hell they want to do it all! There’s just not enough time in the day for all this.

Being an independent music artist can be a lot of work. There are certain things that must be done in order for you to win. You want to build a team of people who want to win as much as you do. These are the people that support you.

This might include family, friends, your significant other, other people in the same industry as you, ect… You need people to help you collect emails, keep in touch with your fans, someone to build your website, help you get shows, help you with the production whether it is beats/mixing/mastering, or even the album cover.

There is a lot you need to do, and there really isn’t enough time in the day to do everything! Focus on the main thing and get others to help you with the rest. You will grow much faster when you are not trying to do everything at once and being burnt out from it all.

The Power is in your email list

What if the only time you built a strong connection with somebody was because you wanted to sell your music? Or you so desperately wanted some views? To be honest that’s what most music artists still do. This is the reason they are still broke.

So, remember the power is in your email list, your funnel that you own, and nobody can take that away from you. At the end of the day, you must take care of your fans if you want them to take care of you. It’s time to have a system that can allow you to make money in your sleep.

Think bigger than yourself

I have a quote I want to read to you that was shared with me. Our rewards in life will always be in exact proportion, to our contribution, our service.

Meaning you have to be bigger than yourself. The one that teaches and motivates will be the one who wins. See, my friend, you have a service to offer. However, it always can’t be about you. If you start helping your fans reach their higher potential, in the end, they will become loyal to you. You must find out what their struggles are. How can your message solve their problems?

Just think about that one track you can’t get enough of. What if you made music like that all the time. Think about how big your audience could be. I’m telling you, this is a millionaire mindset.

remember growing up, always wanting to be accepted. For some reason, I wanted to be part of the crowd. So, I did things I shouldn’t of just to be accepted. Do you know most people still do that when they get older? It’s programmed in us. If you take time every day to change one bad habit, I know you can change your bank account, your fan base, and even live your dreams. I still work on myself every single day.

When you go into business you must always tell yourself, our rewards in life will always be in exact proportion, to our contribution, our service. Never forget that. Jay-z and 50 cent in my opinion are absolutely brilliant when doing this, especially Jay-z.
