The problem with a conscience.

We all have a set of values, a moral code if you will. This moral code is hard-wired into us from an early age that is set upon us from our own experience, our parents, our peers and in some cases, our faith. We base our decisions, our direction and how we live our life based on our sets of values. We make friendships and create relationships based on how well we align with others’ values and what they are willing to share. Good friendships fill in the gaps and have a mutual respect for when values different from one another. Relationships are often ended based on arguments, disagreements and disrespect. What are we telling the world if we are unable to have a conversation with mutual respect for others’ opinions. Isn’t that what Inclusion and Diversity is all about? Having diverse opinions and creating a sense that everyone is included.

What do you do you when disagree with others’ opinions? To make it a more personal level, what do you do when you disagree with those closest to you or with your employer? What’s the best way to handle all of those situations? What will you stand for and against?

What is the one thing that is most important to you that you can’t afford to lose?

Discuss.
